Visiting Artist of the Month
I work in a variety of mediums including acrylics, oils, watercolors, and charcoals. I also like to experiment with mixed media and different tools of application. I believe colors show emotions and I use them to express my feelings. My recent work has been pastel and tranquil in color. I use a lot of light blues and soft greens. It is a step away from realism, but a step toward the way colors appear in my dreams. Using texture and thick paint in some of my artwork creates a more realistic vision.
I capture the personality of animals, flowers, and life in general. My most recent works have consisted of beach scenes, flowers, wildlife, and landscapes I have found in the South Georgia and Florida regions.
My still life work differs from my other work, but there is still a dreamy state to it. The feeling I hope people take from my work is of safety and peace. I use color palettes that soothe all ages. The art in a room can embody the personality of the area, so I always try to make it playfully poised with a sense of serenity.”
