Susan Stubbs - Painter & Colored Pencils

Monticello Florida artist Susan Stubbs has been actively creating her photo-realistic art with colored pencils beginning in 2018.  Her cat “Gadget” inspired her to do her first pencil drawing.  Susan tutored other artists in this medium and in late 2020 received a first-place award at an international competition. Susan also began oil painting and has excelled in this medium as she did with colored pencils.

Susan has exhibited her artwork at the Jefferson Art Gallery in Monticello and the Tallahassee Senior Center Senior Showcase where she also won an award in 2021. Susan won best-in-show and first place for her "Farmers Market Onions" oil painting at the 2022 North Florida Fair in Tallahassee.

Recently Susan has been concentrating on Florida landscapes and wildlife for her realistic oil paintings and hopes to enter in more local art shows.

Susan still has her love for colored pencils, and has several small bird art pieces and welcomes colored pencil pet portrait commissions.
